The Optimec Systems IRiS lens imaging system is a new generation of OCT technology, integrated into a modular product line suitable for the demands of today's lens manufacturers.
Advances in contact lens manufacturing, with more complex designs and increased customisation, have left production control methods trailing behind. Existing geometric metrology systems can be subjective, destructive and time consuming, often with lots of manual handling, manual data entry and generally at the end of the production process.
IRiS is the key to the future of geometric metrology
Utilising Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), the IRiS lens imaging system is faster, more accurate and more informative compared to existing geometric inspection systems.
OCT allows for non-contact inspection in both air and fluid, covering all types of materials and lens designs,
providing complete geometric measurement from edge to edge.
In addition, the IRiS enables users to obtain measurements that have previously required multiple instruments and user skillsets, or have been unobtainable by non-destructive methods.
Measurements can be obtained at all stages of the production process with one single technology, allowing feedback to the production process where is it needed thus reducing costs by allowing rejects to be made before value is added.
A fully digital system allows for full traceability of measurement from beginning to end of the production cycle, allowing for full automation of the measurement process.
